About Us
Beautifully Scarred is a community-based organization dedicated to the moral principles of love, hope, courage, and solidarity to promote a healthy, loving, and sustainable lifestyle. It is our hope that our programs will promote healthy and sustainable communities for all to grow up in and thrive. We are committed to supporting, mentoring and guiding girls to value themselves, discover and develop their strength and receive the necessary support as they navigate challenges. We encourage active and healthy lifestyles, will provide enrichment, support, and life skills instruction. We are here to encourage young girls to take full action to graduate on time, and to move ahead in life as confident, career focused young women.
Beautifully Scarred has impacted the lives of girls and young women for 6 years. Founded in 2016 by Angela, mother of four by the age of 22, Beautifully Scarred was birthed through the realization that we can't control our obstacles, but we can indeed grow from them. This organization was formed through the pain and stigma associated with the trials we experience in life.
Beautifully Scarred is founded on the belief that your imperfections, your pain, your mistakes, and your scars make you beautiful. Scars give you a tie to bind you to your brethren, they allow God strength to be made perfect in you. We want people to be proud of their life, we aren't celebrating pain, we are encouraging people to not be bound in strongholds. We are founded on the belief that if we join together, talk about difficult circumstances, we can grow past them and be the extraordinary being God called us to be.
